The Dekalb County Courthouse address is: 300 S. Grand Avenue, Fort Payne, Alabama. Searching the records at the courthouse will take some time. Right now what I know is the ledgers are not in any electronic databases. The year we would be looking at is 1895, or around that time.
At the following web site there is a picture that are Crows. There were no first names or dates on the original photo. I am hoping someone may have a guess as to which group of Crows these are. They were among pictures collected from the descendants of Geneva Crow Ellis, daughter of Joseph Columbus Crow, granddaughter of Washington Dyer Crow.
VB, Thanks for the responce. I have several old pictures without names that I am trying to get identified. Take time with your elders and name pictures, don’t be a “I wished I had only”. To me there nothing like an old picture and a story to go with it.
Hello Cousins. I am Joan Richie. Many of my grandparents are from the Valley head area. Crows, Beenes, Morgans, Hawkins. Palmore/Palmer. Palmore. Maggie Crow, Nancy Blancitt.

Joan, we share some of the same people. I would like to know more about George Palmore, did he have a twin brother Francies? And are they the twins that married the Lewis girls? Pictures are always welcome. Pictures and large text may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are working on trying to archive as much information as possible. Clues and leads on family before 1850 especially helpful. VB
I’m fairly certain Hartline is a German bloodline also. It used to be Hartlein as far as I know.
